The pool/deck/coping resurfacing/replacement project is underway and will finish by Mid-April 2021.
Note - With the ice storm weather problems that caused plaster delivery issues, our pool restoration project was delayed. A new issue arose on Thursday (4/8) when their new plaster truck developed a hydraulic leak. Waterworks is adjusting their schedules to free up other plaster equipment. The pool resurface and punch list items are now looking like a completion date sometime in April. The grass around the pool area will be maintained with watering and thinning out and may not look great immediately, but will improve each week.
The board chose Waterworks for this project. Waterworks offered the best warranty (15 years) and they expertise for all three surface areas. Our pool was constructed very well and to code in the mid 1960s. Now it is being brought into current code in all areas to include electrical, gas, and safety features.
As noted in the November 12, 2020 HOA Board Meeting minutes, the initial focus was only on the surface area of the pool and not the coping or deck. However, it became obvious as many discussions took place it was prudent for safety, aesthetics, and future cost avoidance to fix the coping and deck at the same time as the pool surface. During deck excavation it was discovered that much of the electrical, gas, and water/pump piping was approaching a point in time that they would need extensive and intrusive maintenance; Thus, as shown in some of the images below, this issue is being addressed now to avoid future additional costs.

The image shows how we are easily adding a lounging area at both ends of the pool.
The attached pdf shows the finishes. Note: the photos in the pdf do not depict the exact color but give a good idea of what the surfaces will look like. The surfaces will match the tile in the cabana area.
